The study comprises a cross sectional case control study of at least 50 patients with patellofemoral pain and 50 controls without PFPS. Participants are recruited at sport physicians and general practitioners. Data will be collected by questionnaire, physical examination, MRI and a blood sample. Two novel MRI techniques are used to measure cartilage quantitatively and to visualize bone perfusion.
