This study explores how trainees use EPA’s to regulate their learning in the clinical environment, through the lens of self-regulated learning.
Context: Trainees from a Dutch GP specialty training program have been using EPA’s since 2017. EPA’s have been designed and introduced at the workplace with the specific aim to support self-regulated learning.
Methods: In this grounded theory study, individual trainees will be interviewed. Interviews will be semi-structured. Data collection will develop over time, informed by constant comparative analysis. Theory will be developed by open, axial and selective coding. Trainees will be included by means of theoretical sampling
